This summer, our children will embark on a special 9-week Children’s Time series that will run alongside our congregational sermon series, Practicing Faith: Habits that Shape the Christian Life.
For many children, and even many adults, the parts of a worship service can seem familiar without always being fully understood. Why do we sing? Why do we pray together? Why do we confess our sins? Why do we recite the Apostles’ Creed? Why did we move the offering? Why do we celebrate Communion?
Each week, we will explore one element of worship and discover how it helps us grow in our relationship with God. Along the way, children will learn that worship is more than a collection of traditions or activities. Worship is a journey in which God gathers us, speaks to us through His Word, nourishes us through His grace, and sends us into the world to live as faithful disciples.
The series begins Sunday, June 14, and concludes on August 9. We invite children, parents, grandparents, and the entire church family to join us as we discover together not only what we do in worship, but why we do it.
